Kim B. Clark, born on March 30, 1949, in Salt Lake City, Utah, is an American professor and the president of Brigham Young University-Idaho, one of the largest Mormon educational institutions in America. He grew up in a family that followed The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After finishing high school, Kim attended Harvard University, but he decided to interrupt his studies after the first year to serve a church mission in Germany. Upon his return to America, Kim resumed his education at Brigham Young University, and later transferred back to Harvard, where he earned a master's degree and a doctorate. Until 2005, he held the position of dean at Harvard Business School, where he focused on the integration of design and technology in various industries, with a particular interest in the evolution of the computer industry.

In 2005, Kim Clark assumed the role of president at Brigham Young University and continues to hold this position to this day. Under his leadership, the university, which has always emphasized Mormon teachings, slightly shifted its course and began promoting traditional values online. This initiative started with videos showcasing the happy lives of students on campus, free from alcohol, drugs, and even extramarital relationships. However, the most notable film, without a doubt, was "Wounded on The Battlefield," released on the university's official website in 2014.

The video, created under Kim's guidance, stirred up controversy from the moment it was released. It touched upon the sensitive topic of masturbation, which is considered taboo within the Mormon faith. The creators portrayed teenagers who had succumbed to this temptation as wounded soldiers on a battlefield. With Kim Clark's voiceover, the video called on friends and anyone aware of the teen's sinful behavior to help and extend a helping hand. The phrase "extend a helping hand" was not the best choice for a video about the spiritual captivity of masturbation. Furthermore, the scenes of military action, which the creators believed accurately depicted the emotions and feelings of the victims, were criticized by millions of users and even inspired the creation of numerous parody videos.
